About the Project
Tachyon is a research project and the first iteration of a startup (Procyon -> Instachip) exploring programmable optoelectronic hardware acceleration for matrix-vector multiplication. I did a lot of electronics hardware design and a decent amount of theoretical work to build up the system for integrating photonics with regular computing. The work resulted in a published paper detailing aspects of the design and implementation of the accelerator architecture, and a basic scaled down version was taped out for testing.\
